March Break Rider Level Camp
Our next camp is scheduled for March 15 to 19, with a testing day on March 21 for interested participants. This camp will be geared toward attaining your Rider Levels, so please speak with Silke first to determine what your Rider Level ability is. The camp is also open to riders not taking the exam, so you can see what the rider tests are like without the stress of taking the test.
The camp fee is $350 for the 5-day week, with an additional entry fee of $35 on Sunday for the instructor and an OEF fee of $21.50 to take the test. An OEF membership is required to take the test, which is a good thing to have anyway since you will need it for the show season. Find out more information about the OEF here. Hunter / Jumper Clinic - February 7, 2010
It's time to get ready for the upcoming show season! Brush off your wintry blues and get back in the saddle with a clinic being led by guest instructor Rick Bishop. Rick is a Level 3 coach from Picton, Ontario, as well as an accredited O.E.F. rider level examiner. The clinic promises positive critique in a fun manner, with a strong emphasis on Dressage basics as well.
Classes will be divided into 60-90 minute sessions consisting of 2-3 riders grouped by skill level. There are limited private sessions as well for riding or ground work. Cost is $75 per group class, $15 to audit. Please speak with Silke for prices if you are interested in a private lesson. To guarantee a limited time slot, please hand in your form and cheque ASAP.
Season's Greetings!
We had a great time at our recent barn Christmas Party - the tack room was stuffed with food and conversation, and everyone enjoyed the riding games. We wish to thank everyone for coming and making the event a success. We also want to thank the people who help us on a regular basis: the weekend helpers, the people who give Silke a much-needed break by feeding horses, and the people who help organize special events. Running a farm is labour-intensive, and extra hands are always appreciated.
We hope everyone had a happy Christmas, and wish you all the best in the New Year. The enthusiasm and participation of our customers is what allows us to keep doing what we love to do, and we are continually grateful. Happy New Year!

December Day Camp
Stubbe Horse Farm will be offering a day camp on December 28, 2009. This one-day camp will be packed with horse activities, so come ready to have some serious fun! Entries are open for beginner to intermediate riders, aged 5 yrs to 14 yrs old. The fee is $65 plus GST, and a post-dated cheque is required to hold your spot. Camp will run from 9am to 4pm, with early drop-off / late pick-up available with prior notice.
Participants will get to learn about horsemanship, volting, proper tack use and care, and more, depending on experience. Please pack a lunch and dress appropriately for the weather. Riders must bring a proper-fitting helmet and shoes with a 1/2 inch heel (no rubber boots). Limited helmets are available for new riders to borrow.
